Chicken In A Crockpot Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 (5-6 lb) chicken
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tsp thyme
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 2 tsp poultry seasoning
  • 1/2 bag of baby carrots
  • 12 rolled ball of aluminum foil

Instructions

  1. 1. Clean chicken inside and out. Dry.
  2. 2. Rub olive oil over chicken, inside & out
  3. 3. In bowl mix all seasoning
  4. 4. Spray crockpot with cooking spray
  5. 5. Put aluminum balls over bottom, to act as a rack
  6. 6. Rub seasoning mix all over inside and outside. Put some under skin of chicken breast
  7. 7. Put carrots inside cavity.
  8. 8. Cook 6-7 hours till chicken is cooked or falls apart
  9. 9. Carefully remove chicken when done.
  10. 10. Drain juice in pot and make your gravy.
  11. DO NOT ADD ANY LIQUID WHEN COOKING CHICKEN,
  12. optional: instead of aluminum balls, cut up onion into 1/2“ slices and place chicken on top of them.
